Today’s run was 20mi at just under 8:00/mi. I’ve logged just over 90 miles in the last 7 days, the most I’ve ever done by about 15 miles. I’ve also run 12 consecutive days without a day off. The thing is, I feel amazing. I noticed this in my last marathon training as well, where I peaked at 70mi/week – I just felt incredible. My long runs didn’t leave me aching and exhausted all day. It seems like the more I run, the better I feel, the less I ache, the more energy I have. I love it. Having said that, I will tone down the mileage about 15-20% next week for recovery and in anticipation of Grandma’s Marathon in two weeks.
Tomorrow’s run: probably just rest, but may do a super easy 3-4mi or a couple mile hike with my family.
